First day of my new system!

Well, I just woke up, and so far everything’s really boring. However, today’s blog entry should be fairly long, and also pretty interesting. I really suck at introductions, so let’s just start, shall we?

On Photomatt.net, there was an interesting aside about a Google newsletter Well, the thing that makes it interesting to me, is the fact that it’s powered by Yahoo Groups. What I’m wondering is why Google doesn’t just do it itself, It’s not that hard to run a newsletter… Google already has Orkut and the Google Groups thing, so why not just use their own systems? Well, whatever, really. I just find that really funny Oh yeah, and the last newsletter was published…. MARCH 2004??? wow, update, guys, update!

My mom’s really weird. Well, as you all know, my entire family’s catholic, but I have no problem with people of other religions. I find it interesting to read about other beliefs and stuff. Anyway, my mom A flame that looks sort of like a copper colored nebula is like, anti-wiccan or something. She wouldn’t let my little sister sample jam from a lady selling it just because the lady had a necklace with a star in a circle on it. Now, I don’t believe in wiccan junk, but I certainly have no problems with wiccans. They can believe whatever they want, I don’t really give a damn. Anyway, I once read this article on the web about how it was, in fact possible to be both wiccan and catholic, it’s just very hard. So anyway, mom has this strange idea that wiccans are satanists or something. I really don’t know what the heck she’s talking about, but we’re talking about the same mom here that used a Ouija Board.

Now, a quick word from our sponsors! Please, if you can, vote for me. You can do it by every day, clicking on the “vote” links on the sidebar of my blog. Just do it whenever you have the chance. It would really mean a lot to me to get in the top 5 wordpress blogs, and it would mean almost as much to get in the number 1 spot on the CreateBlog list. Thank you :-).

I love my hacked up edition of Firefox. Heh, I installed all of the most useful extentions in my Firefox. Today I installed the adbar (so that I can see what ads would be on my site if I had google ads), and FoxyTunes, which is really useful. I also have the gmail notifier, the bloglines notifier, adblock, the web developer’s toolbar, the google bar, tabbed browser preferences, and of course, mouse gestures. I would highly suggest installing at least some of the above highly useful extentions if you use firefox. If you don’t, SUCKS FOR YOU!!!! Oh yeah, and you can leave out the adbar if you want, it’s not really necessary.

Well, today’s blog is over. I actually think that that was pretty long. In fact, I really like this new system I’ve been trying. Today I’m publishing this a bit early, but I might add on to it later. cya!

I just thought of a new system

Hey everyone! The only reason why I’m even writing this entry is because I didn’t want to go two days without blogging. I really don’t want to end up like Scott. He blogs every few weeks or so. Every once in a while, A fractal flame that looks like an ear he’ll blog every day, but that’ll only last a few days. I used to like him, but then he stopped blogging and switched to windoze… uh… yeah, I guess I’ll start.

I thought of a new blogging system just now. As you probably don’t know, I blog through a little applet for gnome that you can open and close a little form that holds your entry. When you click the “Post Entry” button, it posts the entry to your blog, but when the form is closed, your entry stays insife the form. Anyway, here’s the idea: I start the entry when I start up my computer, before I do anything. Then, throughout the day, I write it paragraph by paragraph, and at 12, I’ll publish it. I’ll write a paragraph whenever something interesting happens, or when I get back from somewhere. Like, for instance, today I went to kohls. Now, let’s say something interesting happened there, like a monkey attacked me or something. When I got back, I would put it in the applet, and close it until I’m ready to write another paragraph. Get it? It should lead to longer entries, and hopefully they’ll be more interesting. I’ll start tomorrow before I go to church.

Counter-Strike Condition Zero should be here Tuesday. Yeah, in case you didn’t know, I got into Counter-Strike and decided to order it. Now for you gamers, I’ll tell you my info when I get all set up, this way we could play a few games.

I’m working on an extention of WordPress, and ironically, it’s called WordPress eXtended. Heh, go figure. Anyway, it’s a project between Bobby, Phanatic (don’t ask), and I. Basically, it’s a special version of WordPress with more features and stuff. Maybe Bobby and I could one day be on the WordPress team, but until then, we’ll be working on this. The release date is not yet set.

That’s it for today
, but I hope I can blog tomorrow. Bye!

I am not in the best mood today.

Yeah, I’m pretty pissed today. You want to know why? Well, look at the first two comments on yesterday’s post. WHAT A TOTAL BITCH. I spent an hour or so TRYING to talk to her over AIM, and got nowhere. Well, you want to know why? Well, it was because of a lousy comment I posted on this blog (by the way, I’m not popping up windows for links in my entries anymore in an effort to slowly migrate to XHTML 1.1). Yeah, I told her that her layout was “screwed up”. Then, she just jumped all over me saying how I should learn CSS and how she designs for herself and not other people. If you want to see the convo, it’s in the quotes section. Yeah, in case you don’t know, miss, my sites are always CSS. I try not to use tables or anything. Everything that you see here was done using css, except perhaps the imagemap. Also, there’s no reason to be immature about things like that. At first I was just trying to be nice. I asked her to IM me through a comment on her site, since I couldn’t find her screenname (her layout is mangled in Firefox, and to even leave a comment I had to disable css). Well, after a while in the convo I lost my temper, but it wasn’t too bad.

I got removed from the CreateBlog topsite list. Yeah, I don’t know why, but I think it has something to do with the above. It might also have something to do with yesterday’s entry. CreateBlog guys: all I want to know is why I was removed. I don’t care about it really, all I want to know is what’s wrong. Well, whatever. update: I was taken off because of the above

Ok, well, that’s it. I’ll post again tomorrow (wow, I always say that), and tomorrows should be more than just complaining. Sorry for the horrible post today!

Hey everyone!

Hey guys! Well, today’s blog should be interesting, I’m not really sure, but I have quite a few things to cover. I guess the first thing I should say is that if you like my site, you might want to vote for it on a few topsite lists. To vote for it on the WordPress topsite list, you can click here, and to vote for this on the CreateBlog topsite list, you can click here. The CreateBlog topsite list doesn’t really mean much to me, but most of the blogs that are on there are Xangas, which I hate, so I just went on that list to prove that I’m better than any xanga. Well, right now I’m number 2, and all the other people put the vote button on top of every entry, which in my opinion is cheating. Would you believe I’m number 10 on the wordpress list? Well, let’s try to get me higher, ok? My goal is to get in the top 5. Thank you!

I’d like to point out something on Dave Massy’s blog. In case you don’t know who Dave Massy is, he’s one of the Internet Exploder developers. Bobby was actually the person to notice this first, you can see that in my quotes page. Anyhow, I’d like to point out something in this entry. It explains a nice workaround to add transparent png support to IE. How exciting. So, Dave, let me get this straight: in order for me to use a feature that is supported in every single other browser but IE, I have to do more work, and use what’s probably invalid CSS, and write a whole bunch of fancy code? ALL FOR A FREAKING PNG IMAGE THAT USES ALPHA TRANSPARENCY??? Hmm, normally all I’d have to do is <img src=”/images/lalala.png” alt=”lalala” />, but now I have to add crap to the CSS, as well as write an IE behavior. Oh wait, I also have to include the dimentions of the image, so the code is now <img src=”/images/lalala.png” alt=”lalala” width=”100″ height=”200″ /> Hmm, what if I have png image tags all over my site that doesn’t have those attributes… Oh, so now I have to change every image tag for a png image, otherwise IE users won’t see the image at all? JUST ADD IN THE FREAKING PNG SUPPORT!!!!! Thank you.

Oh boy, now I’m hooked. Well, a few days ago, Bobby got me interested in a Japanese TV show named Detective Conan. It’s about a high-school detective that got turned into a little kid by some dumb drugs that were supposed to kill him. Well, if you want to watch it, it’s on Cartoon Network at 1 AM. Well, that’s the english version called Case Closed, but it’s almost the same…

Ok, that’s it! I’ll post again tomorrow, see ya!

New layout. sorta

Ok, I decided not to go with Kubrick because I wanted to continue on with this version. I’ve also decided not to publish 5.0 any time soon, but this is version 4.5. Yeah, 4.0 is out of beta (I forgot to take it out), and I jumped it up to 4.5 because of the new navigation. I also removed the last.fm list because it was adding to the load time of this page, which is already pretty high. Anyway, this version should be a little bit better. Also, I know that a few people out there still use text browsers, and for them, the imagemap at the top of the page is fully text browser friendly :-D. I tested it out myself in links and lynx, two of the most popular text browsers.

To kubrick or not to kubrick

OK, here’s the deal: I’m going to start working on the next layout for this blog sometime soon, and I want to have it out by the time school starts for me in september. If I can’t get it out by then, I’d like it out by october. Anyway, I was looking at the Kubrick template at BinaryBonsai. I really like it, and I could never design something as good as that. Anyway, for Benign Thoughts version 5 and further (yeah, would you believe that this is version 4 already?) I might decide to use Kubrick as a base. I’d probably make a darker version. By the time it would be done, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell it was Kubrick. Anyway, do you want to know what the base was for 3.0 and onward? It was Perun. Anyway, either I stick with what I have so far, and modify that for version 5, I could use Kubrick and have a more clean index, or I could make one from scratch, but it probably wouldn’t be that good. Right now I’m pretty sure I’m gonna use Kubrick as a base, but I’m still not 100% sure.
Oh yeah, and I’m going to go for XHTML 1.0 strict with 5.0, so yeah.

I’m also thinking of changing hosts. I probably won’t, but yeah, I might.

Please comment.

Ok, now I am pissed.

Hello everyone! How are you doing this fine day? Well, of course it’s raining and there is a hurricane lurking about (charley), but who really cares? I sure don’t! Well anyway, I’m here to blog. Yeah, I’m going to have a nice, full, blog today. Isn’t that just peachy? Well, I should start now.

YO! CONSUMER REPORTS!!!!! Ok, yeah. If you’re from Consumer Reports and you’re reading it, I’M REALLY PISSED AT YOU GUYS!!! Ok, you know why? Well, in the September issue of Consumer Reports, there are reviews on spam protection. Now, it has a few real spam programs, and some email programs that help. Among these is the Mac OS X mail program, Outlook 2003, and Entourage. DON’T YOU THINK SOMETHING IS MISSING? Yeah, I’m talking about the best email program on the planet: Mozilla Thunderbird. Yeah, it has spam protection, and it completely kills all the others. You know why? BECAUSE IT’S OPEN SOURCE AND IT’S FREE. Now, let’s see: The mac thing is free, but you need a mac; Outlook is $100 and is also no good because it’s made by Microsoft (which is evil); and Entourage is $400 so it better be good. Oh, wait… guess what? It’s also only for mac, and is also made by Microsuck. Woo hoo. Guess what? Thunderbird has one of the best anti-spam systems I’ve ever used, and you know what? IT WASN’T EVEN MENTIONED. Oh yeah, and it works on Windoze, Mac, and of course: Linux. EAT THAT!

Ok, so I went to a friend’s house today. I actually know them through my little sister. She has a little friend named Alyssa. I don’t know if that’s how she spells it, or not. Hell, I don’t even know where I’m going with this. You know, I’ll just stop right now. This was a stupid topic, and… well… there was no purpose for it. Wow… that was useless… I wonder why I didn’t just delete this whole paragraph… Well, whatever.

I may have already blogged about this, but just so you know, the Amiga project is still alive. Yeah, now they have Amiga OS 4 and the new Amiga One, which kicks ass. If you want some screenshots of OS 4, you can go here. I just wish we hadn’t gotten rid of the old Amiga 2000 I used to have here. I could then install OS 4 on that instead of buying a new A1. Well, Amiga OS will run on any mac and any amiga, so uh.. yeah.

Okie Dokie! I’m done. Just for the hell of it, I think I’ll include a site of the day. Today’s site is: Simplesis. Why, you ask? Because the layout kicks ass :-D

Ok, it’s time to go, but one last topic. SPAM is getting rediculous. I just got an email with the subject line “pudding”. Well, Thunderbird, of course, detected it, but guess what was in the email?? This:

wooooo hoo… What’s that have to do with pudding? Well, I dunno, but whatever!

Ok, NOW I’m done. g’bye!
