Alright, I plan on blogging again later (after I sleep), but I just wanted to point out that I put small ads on this page.. one’s a text ad at the very bottom with my info, and one on the sidebar under “ads”. If you see anything on there that you’re interested in, feel free to click on them. Don’t worry, my site’s still valid XHTML 1.1
Also, if you want ads too, sign up using this link. It makes me more money that way, and you don’t lose anything (I get 6% of whatever you make, but you still get that 6%). They don’t require anything but your address, so it’s safe.
Alright, if you go to Google and search for ‘benign’, I’m on page 2 between ‘Benign Breast Conditions’ and ‘Benign Tumors’. I’m also first up if you search for LouisC. Seeing as my site has nothing to do with cancer or benign tumors, except for the name (which is an inside joke that I’ll explain later), It’s kind of suprising that I’d get on the second page. I suppose it’s a good thing, since now more people will probably find me accidently, but they’d probably have no interest in what I have to say. They’d probably find me because they’re doing research for a school report or something, or they themselves have a tumor and they want to know more about it. It’s pretty funny, actually. I’m sitting here picturing some geeky kid with a giant bulge on his arm searching for ‘benign’, clicking on my site, and then reading about what I think about IE7 and how much I can’t stand comment spam.
Well, so where does my name come from? Well, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while know, I already posted the story a long time ago, but I’ll explain it again. My friend Bobby (his site’s down right now) decided one day to make a blog, and he named it ‘Malignant Thoughts’ and it ran on cutenews, I believe. His name came from a song he liked (probably some emo crap). Well, I already had a blog called ‘TecFreak’s World’ (TecFreak was my old nickname, kinda), so I decided to rename it since the name was so dumb, and I decided to name it the opposite of ‘Malignant Thoughts’, which was ‘Benign Thoughts’, and that’s how this blog got its name. Yeah, i know it’s not the exact opposite, but it’s close enough.
I just saw Napoleon Dynamite today, and it’s got to be the most random movie I’ve ever seen. I don’t really understand why it’s so popular, I thought it was rather stupid. Sure it was funny because it’s random, but nothing has anything to do with anything else. It’s not really the good kind of random, like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, where there IS in fact a plot, but there’s completely random stuff stuck in there, and you don’t really know what that plot is until the end. ND had like, 5 things going on at the same time, and half the things had nothing to do with anything else. For instance, that Trisha girl. She’s at the dance, and then you never really see her again. Does this make any sense? No? Well, I just wanted to say that I can’t really understand why Napoleon Dynamite is so popular right now.
Well, I’m kinda bored right now, so I think I’ll look at random crap on the internet or watch some anime or something. C’ya.
edit: I just rose, now I’m between ‘Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia’ and ‘Meningiomas & Benign Brain Tumors’
edit again: now I’m even higher…
These damn spammers are really starting to piss me off. Today I had my Jazz concert (more about this later) for a few hours, and when I got back home, I checked to see how many spam comments were left here (I emptyed the digest right before I left) and I found about 20 or so comments. I’ll say it again to emphisize the fact: 20 COMMENTS IN 3 HOURS!!!!!! Now, do you wanna know how many got through? None. Thanks to the Spam Karma WordPress plugin, absolutely no spam comments got through, but the thing I want to know is why the hell these guys are leaving so many comments. I know it’s to raise their google rating, but if it doesn’t work, why bother? Somebody ought to make it illegal to leave spam comments, pingbacks, or trackbacks on blogs… or anywhere for that matter. It’s just plain annoying.
Now, I said something about a jazz concert, didn’t I? Well, you guys know I’m in my school’s Stage Band. It’s sort of like the Jazz Band but a little less good. I mean, we weren’t really bad or anything, but we weren’t the best. For one thing, Timmy left the Trombone 1 music for Brothers & Sisters in the band room because he didn’t want to play it (I was gonna play it, but he said he wanted to play it and then chickened out). He could have just brought it in with him and given it to me, because the song didn’t sound quite right without that part. I also screwed up several times on A Child Is Born, like playing ‘E flat’s instead of ‘E’s (bad habit) and such, but it came out pretty good. The main Jazz Band was awesome… just amazingly awesome. I don’t know what to say about them.
Yeah, IE7’s coming out soon, but I don’t see it as a very big threat. In my opinion, it’ll just turn out to be IE6 with the number “7″ instead of “6″, tabbed browsing, and a bunch more fake HTML tags that’ll screw up even more sites. Because of the new features, and knowing how horrible MS is with security, I expect there to be even more security holes, and consequentially more stupid updates for IE users to download and install. Another funny thing is that they say that they are “listening to customers” when what they’re really doing is looking at Firefox, thinking “oh god, this is gonna kick our little asses” and hastily trying to throw together a new version of IE. There’s an “Expert Zone” chat coming up about IE on March 10th at 13:00 EST which I really want to check out, but I can’t because I have school. I figure it could be fun, I’d get to see what those MS dummys are really like, and later make fun of them over here.
Well, that’s about it. Goodnight everybody. I have no school all next week, so that should be fun, maybe I’ll work on something useful :-). Oh yeah, and by the way, check this out: Online Poker ![]()
I went to the city today! Yes, again. It’s fun! Today we actually went for a reason though. As I said last night, they have The Gates in Central Park for the next two weeks or whatever, and so we decided to go. If you wanna see some pictures, I have them up in my “photos” directory. Right now the pics in there are only from today, so yeah. Just a note: ‘unicycles’ and ‘elevators’ are rather cool.
The gates weren’t as cool as I thought they would be. I mean, it’s really neat that this guy and his wife wanted to do this since 1979, but how cool could 7500 gates be? Just the way they look isn’t what’s cool though, it’s when you think about it. These are the same people who surrounded islands with pink or whatever, they’re really weird. Who would think to do something like hang a whole bunch of gates on trails in Central Park? See, that’s what’s cool, not the actual gates.
Have you ever been in the Marriot Marquis? Well, if you haven’t, I highly reccomend it. It’s freaking amazing! My dad promised me we would go in there to ride the elevators in December when we went to see the tree, and we just got around to it now. IT’S AMAZING!!!! Those things make you so dizzy it’s not even funny. You know that feeling you get when you go up or down an elevator? Well, imagine that the whole trip going up 42 stories (we only went up to the 42nd floor because we didn’t want the lady to get suspicious). There are pictures of the view from the 8th floor (lobby) and the 42nd floor in my ‘photos’ directory, so look at them. They’re a tiny bit fuzzy since it’s a hotel and hotels aren’t that bright, but it’s still cool.
Well, that’s it. Goodnight!
Alright, I just saw something really funny so I thought I’d make a quick post. Ever heard of Infopop’s UBBThreads? Well, I was reading the reviews from tonight’s saturday night live, and I noticed how FUGLY it is. So I see the Infopop link at the bottom, and I remember thinking, “oh, this thing has GOT to be cheap” so I click the link and I’m reading about it. Well, I saw the Pricing & Ordering link at the bottom, and get a load of this. It costs $230 for 1 year of upgrades. TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLARS! That’s more expensive than a Perpetual Licence for Invision Power Board, and with that you get ALL future versions, plus it’s a lot sexier than that UBB crap. ALSO, there are better, free scripts that do the exact same thing, like miniBB and bbPress. But my question to you guys is, why use UBB? I mean, I’ve seen other sites that use Eve and UBB and stuff like that. Why??????
I wasn’t going to blog today, but I figured why not? I’m planning on going to the city tomorrow (to see the gates), so I’m gonna probably blog again when I get back later that night. Oh, and yeah, I’ll have pictures hopefully. It should be really cool. Anyway, this should be pretty short, so don’t expect much.
I slept until 16 or so this morning! Yeah, that’s 4 in the afternoon, which isn’t really that bad because I’m known to sleep really late, but it’s still late. Right now it feels like lunchtime, and it’s 23:30. I guess that might be a good thing because usually I’m exhausted when I watch my Saturday night anime.. crap, I just remembered SNL is on tonight. Gotta go, be back later.
Ah, that was funny. Alright, I’m back, and I totally lost track of what I was saying. Uhhh…. Well, this site is now gravatar enabled, so if you have an account on gravatar.com and you post a comment here using the email account you used to sign up on gravatar, your little avatar will appear next to your comment. Isn’t that neat?
Well, that’s it. This was gonna be much longer, but I forgot SNL was on, so yeah. Now it’s time for me to watch my anime, so sorry. G’night.
Hey everyone! Damn, I’ve been pretty good lately, haven’t I? Blogging every other day is a big thing for me, so yeah. Well, I better get started before I get sidetracked.
Well, I’m listening to the STFU show on Novastream right now. I think I told you about Novastream the other day, right? *checks* Yeah, I did. Anyway, the STFU show is basically just a whole bunch of the Novastream djs just talking and drinking. It’s the funniest thing ever. So anyway… I bet you can probably picture me typing this. I’m sitting at my desk, wearing my black corduroy jacket, my Suprnova.org T-Shirt, and my black pants (lol, all I wear is black pants most of the time anyway) with my speakers up listening to a bunch of guys talking about absolutely nothing. Yeah, it’s great.
I’m reading The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy again. If you don’t know what that is, just… just go. Well, not really. Anyway, there’s a Hitchhiker’s Guide movie coming out soon. I think it’s made by touchstone, but I hope it comes out good. I mean, it’s the type of movie that could totally bomb and disreguard the book, it could stay loyal to the book and be awesome, OR it could stay loyal to the book but add more to it that would make it better (is that possible?) and be the movie of the century. Either way, I’m gonna watch it.
Alright, that’s it. If I can, I’ll blog again as soon as possible. G’night.
