Sorry for not posting for a long time again. I started writing a post the day after the day I said I was going to write a full post, but I never finished and posted it because I got distracted. Go figure. Anyway, I have a couple of things to talk about today, so yeah.
New iPod! The new iPod has now been released. It’s less than a half-inch thin, and the front is flat, unlike the older ipods with rounded edges. The biggest new feature, however, is that it plays movies. Now, my iRiver H320 has played videos long before this new iPod came out, but the thing that amazes ME is the how thin the damn thing is. I wish I could hold one in my hand to see it in person. It comes in black and white, just like the iPod nano, and I wonder if it uses flash memory. I can’t find anything that tells me whether it uses a tiny harddrive or flash memory. I doubt it’d use flash memory, though, since it’d be way too expensive for them to include 30 gigs of flash memory at this time. Maybe in the future though. Anyway, even I want it, though I don’t know how I would use it on Linux :-). I’m sure someone must have written a program by now, I mean, it’s been out for like, what, 6 hours? Yeah, that was a joke. A bad one.
XMGCreative is reopening soon! Most of you probably know about XMGNetworks and XMGFree. Well, we’re looking for designers to join the new XMGCreative. We’re not sure how the pricing’s gonna go yet, but once the new site is up, we’ll start hiring designers. It’d probably be a per-template thing. If you’re interested, sign up and apply on the XMGNetworks forum.
Well, I’m done. I think it’s about time for my shameless Opera plug. It’s a hell of a lot faster than Firefox and Internet Explorer, it’s more secure than both Firefox and Internet Explorer, it has a built in mail and chat program, as well as a full RSS reader, it has much nicer, more complex skins, custom toolbar and menu sets, and it just plain kicks ass (plus it does a lot more!). If you don’t use it, try it. If you didn’t like it last time you tried it, try it again. If you don’t like it this time, try it again next time a new version comes out. You won’t be sorry :). C’ya!
