W00t! A new computer!

Hey everybody. I’m in a really good mood today because I’m gonna set up my new computer soon. For Christmas I got a new case, a new motherboard, an AMD Athlon 64 3700+, a gig of ram, and a crappy keyboard. I gotta put a new computer together using that stuff and some old stuff from my current computer, like my harddrives, videocard, you know. Anyway, it should be wicked awesome!

WordPress 2.0 is out! Wordpress.org isn’t public right now, Matt’s switching servers, but it was public earlier and it has a new layout and everything. I already installed WordPress 2.0 and if I must say so, it’s amazing. I love the new admin section!

We got an HDTV!! It’s a 37″ LCD made by sceptre. I love it, it even supports 1080p and it was only $1600 from costco.com. We have it mounted on the wall downstairs and right now we’re trying to get the digital channels over the air (we still have an old antenna). Right now Fox and UPN come in alright, and the HD is amazing, but we can’t get CBS all the time, and getting NBC is rare. There are two PBS channels that come in (one with only crafts, the other is regular PBS), as well as two crappy spanish channels. Hopefully we’ll be able to get NBC. If I can’t watch SNL in HD, I’ll go insane, haha.

Well, that’s all. As you can tell, I’ve got a lot to do. For those of you who don’t use IE and can see the header image that says “Merry Christmas”, it’s staying up there until Christmas is over. For the ignorant folk and the jewish or muslim people, that’s January 6th, or the Epiphany. C’ya!

Merry Christmas!

I’m just posting to say Merry Christmas! Don’t worry, a real post will come either tonight or tomorrow. I have a lot to say :-)

Uhh… yeah.

I’ve been really lazy lately, I’m sorry. Hopefully I’ll get back into the habit of blogging daily, or at least every other day. Anyway, I’m posting this entry from BloGTK. It’s getting nicer, so I’m trying it out.

Digg is pretty addictive. I think I’m starting to like it more than slashdot believe it or not. News seems to get on digg faster than on Slashdot, and I like how you can blog a story right within digg. It’s pretty useful. I added it to my RSS feeds in Opera, along with Slashdot, since I can’t simply drop slashdot… I mean, it’s Slashdot! Slashdot has been, like, THE geek news source.

Some people might have heard about Google buying Opera. In fact, most people probably heard about it. Well, I don’t know if people have heard this part, but Opera’s CFO (Christian Jebsen) downright said that Google is NOT buying them, and that they haven’t even been approached by Google. However, my dad told me to take this with a grain of salt. He once worked for some engineering company, and they said they weren’t getting bought by this other company, but they did get bought out by that other company, so yeah. Who knows? Google buying Opera might not be that bad of a thing as long as Google doesn’t open-source Opera (I really don’t want to see 50 Opera derivatives around), and as long as Opera gets to keep it’s name (no GBrowser).

I’m sick. I woke up a few days ago with a headache and not being able to breathe through my nose, but I went to school anyway, since I had a band concert that night, and you’re not supposed to go to any after school activities if you weren’t at school. Yesterday I felt even worse, and had a fever at about 102 (F), so I decided to stay home. Don’t worry, I’m starting to feel better. The only thing wrong with me now is I get dizzy when I stand up, and I have a really stuffy nose.

So, well, that’s it! Uhh… Yeah. I can’t wait until Christmas and eventually New Year’s (Opera’s putting an ad up on ABC’s SuperSign, if you haven’t heard)… I want my presents!! Haha, c’ya!

Color Photos taken 96 years ago!

From digg:
“Color film was non-existent in 1909 Russia, yet in that year a photographer named Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii captured hundreds of photos in full, vivid color. His photographic plates were black and white, but he had developed an ingenious photographic technique which allowed him to use them to produce accurate color images”

These things are absolutely amazing. Color photographs taken during the WWI era…

btw, a real blog entry’ll hopefully come soon :-)
