April Fools

Happy April Fools day! I hate myspace, but that URL is indeed the URL to my real myspace, though I never use it. w00t.

Do NOT use GoDaddy

I’m just posting to let everybody know that they should NOT use GoDaddy. They’re moving to the Windows platform, according to Microsoft. The article is located here. I will hopefully post a large entry tomorrow or later, I don’t know yet.

Happy birthday to me.

Today’s my birthday! Yay. Right now my cousins and grandparents are over. I turned 16 today, but I’m not having a big party, mainly because I don’t want one. I’d rather get a big birthday present then a big party. Hopefully the music store’ll get my trombones in and I can try them out and pick the one I like soon… I want my new trombone :D.

Biology homework! I actually have bio homework today, so I’m sitting here doing it. 118 questions, most of which we haven’t learned yet or are really badly worded. It’s not an actual exam, just a practice one based on the regular AP exams… The good news, however, is that it’s harder than the real AP test, and the AP test is written better, so compared to this crap we’re doing now, the AP test is going to be cake.

I made some new Last.fm groups. One is for a forum/website I moderate called Buddy4u. The Last.fm group currently has 7 members, and we need 15 to get statistics, so if you want, sign up! The group is located here. The other group is for XMGNetworks. You can sign up for this one too. It’s here. Antonio made the logo for the XMGNetworks one, isn’t it sexy? I made the Buddy4u one vector. It’s my first vector anything, and I based it on the regular Buddy4u logo. I would have just used the regular B4U logo, but it’s too small and stretching it looked dumb. Feel free to join both groups, and add me as your friend.

I plan on posting again tomorrow. If I don’t, I give you permission to yell and scream at me. Send me an mp3 of you yelling at me if you must. Or you can just yell at your computer monitor. If you yell loud enough, I will be able to hear you.

Oh, and the latest Opera 9 build passes Acid2. You can get it on the Desktop Team blog.

Dare I blog?

And now, for my monthly blog entry. It seems like that, doesn’t it? I haven’t posted in such a long time, it’s become a very bad habit. Don’t worry, I have no intent on shutting this site down or anything like that. I’ve simply been both busy and lazy. Hopefully I’ll get back into the habit of blogging regularly, though I can’t really promise anything.

I got involved in my school play this year! The play was Little Shop of Horrors (which is a wicked sick play if you’ve never seen it), and it took place this Friday (March 3rd) and Saturday (March 4th). I was in the pit orchestra. I’m not going to lie, we kicked ass. We totally, completely, kicked ass. I was worried because we didn’t start rehearsing with the cast until the week of the play itself, and the first day sucked. The cast was having issues remembering lines, the right key to sing in, the tempo of the songs, all that stuff. The light people were getting the timing of everything wrong as well. It looked like we were screwed. However, over the week, everyone drastically improved. By the end of the week, everybody was stunning. There were a couple of funny messups, but they were well covered in all of the cases. I’m definitely gonna try to get into pit again next year.

To redesign or not to redesign? I was thinking of redesigning this site this month… I don’t have any good ideas yet, but it seems all blogs look the same. I want mine to be different. I don’t plan to change the color scheme, but maybe I’ll change the way things work a bit. I really like the current layout, though, so I don’t know if it’s going to happen.

I need a new trombone, so I’m looking at different possible trombones. I tried the King 607F, the Bach TB200B, the Conn 88H, the Yamaha 446G and the Blessing B-78 in a few different music stores. I hated the Blessing, the Conn was a larger bore and too expensive, but otherwise it was good, the Bach liked to play certain notes, which I didn’t like (they call it slotting), and the King rattled (and I didn’t like the positioning of the trigger either). I liked the Yamaha the best, so right now I’m looking at that Yamaha that I tried, the Conn 52H (which I probably won’t get because I can’t find any place to try it), and the Yamaha 640. The 640’s a professional trombone, like the Conn 88H, except since it’s made in Japan, you get more for your money. I’ll keep this site updated when I try the Yamaha 640. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get either the 446G or the 640.

Uh, so, I guess I’m done. Expect an update soon. I’m going on a field trip tomorrow so I plan on posting about it. It should be fun. C’ya!
