I realize I haven’t posted anything since August apart from a few comments and crap, so I’m going to try to get back into it… I’ve just been busy with School, I got a job, a Wii, and well, WoW is really addicting. I am alive, so yeah. Maybe I’ll find some interesting stuff to blog about sometime soon. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten.
I have been watching the download counter for Wordpress 2.0 and I am happy to say that as of now, it has hit 1 million downloads. Now, that doesn’t mean 1 million blogs are running WP2, but it means it’s been downloaded a million times. I personally download it once every new version, so four of those downloads are probably mine. However, I set up blogs for friends and such, so those four downloads probably created about 10 blogs. In addition, other people may download WordPress once for every blog, and others multiple times. Whether download count os a good thing or not, today is certainly a special day for WordPress.
Update: Other sites that blogged this can be found at The Blog Herald
Well, in case you didn’t notice, this site and all the sites hosted with it have been moving slower for the last week or so. That’s because I’m now hosted by Dreamhost. Sadly, the server I’m on is having issues with DoSes and other unknown things. Once it’s all sorted out, I’ll start blogging again. Sorry for taking so long to post, I know I haven’t posted anything since, like, April. I’ll speed things up over the summer.
Right now I’m doing the AP Biology exam from 1999 getting ready for the real test in like, a week, so this entry won’t be too long. However, I plan on posting again tomorrow.
Like the new design? I released my CSSReboot design a day early, just for the hell of it and because I wanted to see what people think. A lot of people complained that a dark background made my text hard to read, so this layout is light. I’m rather fond of it, actually, though there will be gradual changes over time… Like always, the header is random, but smaller to save more space for posts. It’s fully compatible with every browser, though IE users will see a little message above the posts telling them to switch to a better browser like Opera. Any suggestions? Please comment. There will be another post by the end of the week.
Tomorrow I will be launching a new site design for this spring’s CSS Reboot (early). It’s not going to be much different from my current design, but I do promise new colors
A new entry will also appear tomorrow.
Opera’s shipping weekly-ish preview builds until the release of Opera 9. These builds aren’t as tested as the Technology Previews, Betas, and Release Candidates, but they are brand new every week. Keep up with the latest builds over at the Desktop Team blog. A real blog entry will come in the next few days.
The project I started a few weeks ago isn’t going too well. Well, for my purposes, that is. So far there has been no spam, which makes me think that either spammers haven’t found the site yet, or that they’re holding off for the entries to get older. Once again, the project is located at science.benignthoughts.com.
